Current Practice and Background
Shelby Rider brings enthusiasm, diligence, and experience in family law to Seeley Family Law Practice.
She earned her legal degree (J.D.) from University of San Francisco School of Law in 2019, where she received a CALI Award for Excellence in Constitutional Law. Shelby was also a member of the Women’s Lawyer Committee and a member of the Asylum and Refugee Moot Court team.
As an undergraduate, she attended National University of Ireland, Galway where she graduated with honors, earning a B.A. in English while minoring in Legal Studies.
Before joining Seeley Family Law Practice, Shelby worked for Legal Aid of Sonoma County on cases involving custody of children and dissolution proceedings. Additionally, she received the Pro Bono Award from the Sonoma County Bar Association in 2017 for her participation with Legal Aid.
Shelby has previously worked as a family law clerk in Redwood City, CA. Her compassion with assisting families through their complex and emotional family disputes has affirmed her commitment to pursuing this type of work.
